Pandesia Restaurant — The Classic Garden Restaurant of Kalamaki
Pandesia has been welcoming both visitors and locals in Kalamaki since 1993. In a tourist destination where restaurants often come and go with the seasons, three decades of continuous operation speak for themselves.
The Garden
The first thing you notice is the flowers. The entrance pathway is lined with colorful blooms that lead into a spacious open-air garden courtyard. Tables are dressed in white, paired with blue chairs — a timeless Greek color combination — while string lights overhead create a warm and inviting atmosphere after sunset.
The Food
The kitchen has been preparing the same traditional Zakynthian recipes for more than 30 years. The beef stifado — slow-braised with wine, pearl onions, cinnamon, and cloves — is a dish well worth seeking out. Kleftiko and stamna beef, slow-cooked in a traditional clay pot, are local specialties packed with authentic flavor. Grilled meats and fresh seafood complete the menu, while younger guests are catered for with a dedicated children’s menu.
Greek Night
Thursday’s live music evening is something of a local institution in Kalamaki. A live band performs traditional Greek music, dancing begins as the night unfolds, and the staff often join in the celebrations. It’s authentic, lively, and great fun.
If you’re spending a few days in Kalamaki, chances are you’ll find yourself returning more than once.
